There is arguably no more iconic Australian landmark than the Sydney Opera House.
Based in the heart of Sydney's CBD, the Opera House brings tourists from around Australia and the world and, naturally, many are attracted to living close by and visiting.
Therefore when there is construction work in and around the Sydney Opera House, it can create significant health risks to not only onsite workers, but also for the high volume of tourists and those living in the hundreds of nearby apartments.
ChallengeRVT Group was engaged by Seymour Whyte to help reduce noise levels in and around the Opera House while it completed maintenance work.
The project involved removing and replacing all the pavers around the Opera House, and to do this successfully machinery like generators and jackhammers were a necessity. This type of equipment creates significant noise risks - both for the operators and the surrounding public.
SolutionThe RVT Group approach was to create noise enclosures that literally contained the majority of the noise, mitigating the risk (and discomfort) for those close to the construction site.
RVT Group has the widest range of noise barriers available anywhere in Australia, which allowed a customised solution for Seymour Whyte. Each noise barrier is independently tested and certified and is ideal for reducing noise on site.
