Case Study Overview

Ongoing and uncontrolled noise from a large sand pump in a residential area.

Challenge

Our client had a large diesel driven pump located at a popular beach location on the Gold Coast, due to the location also being a very popular tourist attraction as well as a densely populated residential area, there was a need to significantly reduce the noise pollution emitted from this machine.

Solution

The RVT Group approach was to create a noise enclosure using the Sound Blocking Quilt - SOUNDEX and the Construction Sound Barrier - SOUNDEX Curtain. These quilts and curtains were used over several months to ‘Capture, Control and Contain’ the noise directly at the source; achieving a reduction in the noise levels that were produced on site.

Without installing specialist noise control equipment, this would have led to site workers health to be put at risk and consequently the Gold Coast City Council’s public relations team could have prosecuted the contractor for breaching regulations.

By installing specialist noise control equipment, this resulted in minimising the health risks for all involved in the project and there were ZERO noise complaints.
