Case Study Overview

Our clients who operate in the demolition and civil earthworks sector are working on a significant New South Wales freeway upgrade project. The project involves the creation of a new underpass, and thus diesel machinery for excavation is involved. We were contacted and have since provided two of our VENTEX® Axial 1250S-HP kits, which feature 40 metres of ducting and are designed to move very high volumes of air, therefore keeping workers’ lungs clean and protected from developing Occupational Lung Disease.

Challenge

Our civil earthworks client has dozens of workers operating diesel-powered vehicles and machinery in the underground earthworks space. They required adequate ventilation to ensure carcinogenic diesel particulates did not become trapped in the environment, and ultimately end up in workers’ lungs.

Solution

We recommended and provided our portable and incredibly powerful VENTEX 1250S-HP kits, which provide 104,000m3/hr airflow, and feature silencers and power leads. Ducting was also provided.

Underpass workers, owing to our engineered hazard control system, will have clean lungs on this project, and will be able to breathe easily for years to come.
