It is often necessary, on construction sites, to carry out works that can lead to dangerous silica dust. The Dustex Pop-up Tent and Dustex Raptor work together to minimise Silica dust and other dust buildup onsite, which will create a clean and safe working environment.
19th October 2021Often on a construction site, it is necessary to carry out minor works, such as cutting or coring of concrete, or other materials that contain dangerous silica dust.
If it is a small work area you can isolate the area and resultant dust hazard, with a Dustex Pop-up Tent.
These are used in conjunction with a unit which is an integral fan and 3 stage filtration unit. The extraction ensures the tent is kept at a negative pressure and this, therefore, prevents any dust migration.
Right now our man has full respiratory protection and is cutting without the extraction system running. You can see the airborne dust right now which will of course migrate everywhere there is an ingress point.
Right now I have turned the extraction unit on and you can see the tent comes under a vacuum, and the air is clearing, and the dust becomes drawn away and contained, thus making the area clean and safe.
So this is a monitor which will alarm in the case of dangerous levels of dust. You can hear that cutting is still occurring in the tent however we are seeing perfectly clean and healthy air being discharged through this Dustex Raptor unit.
